Recommendation 2 : Create an online platform to surface issues pertaining to the Indian Community ( Bottom up approach )
• Members of the public often use social media platforms like Facebook to voice out a lot of their concerns pertaining to them and their community . While this platform may be useful in finding out about people ’ s concerns on the ground , there are too many posts for leaders of the parliament to look through on such social media platforms , also keeping in mind the fact that many such posts by the public may be mere rants , rather than constructive feedback .
• Hence , what we propose is to create a Facebook page where members of the public can voice their concerns . A separate website can host some of the selected concerns of the Indian community so that the parliamentary leaders can refer to this website to gain insight about people ’ s concerns on the ground .
• For this website , moderators from an authorised Indian organisation ( SINDA , Narpani , etc .) will be required . They will be in charge of picking out the constructive feedbacks and issues raised by the public from the Facebook Page , and putting them up on the website for the leaders of the Parliament to have a look at .
• Using an online platform may be cost effective solution , as compared to avenues like collecting feedback through survey forms . However , there might be insufficient manpower from the large organisations who are able to help with the proposed solutions → Can use the help of student leaders from tertiary institutions ’ student groups .
