Overall, the Westersons really did seem like any other family. Visitors weren't creeped out by the huge mansion. They could mingle in town and everyone was very friendly to them. Dinner parties were a frequent event for Robert and Emma. Play dates happened often for Daniel and Renae. Walter answered doors, served meals, tended the garden and kept the home nice and tidy just like any other.
It wasn't until you spent any significant amount of time at the Westerson's home that you would notice anything at all that was unusual. Especially when October came and the holidays began.
