The Act of Love in the Midst of Tragedy
By Nakia Evans
The world
was shocked by a tragedy on Wednesday,
June 17th when a young man, Dylan
Roof, shot and killed nine people during Bible Study at the Emanuel
African Methodist Episcopal Church in downtown Charleston, South
Carolina. People from different areas traveled to the historic church to
pay their respects and to pray and mourn together. During the time of
this tragedy, it wasn’t about who was white, or who was black. It was
about the loss of those nine people and the fact that the community
and town was grieving.
