#5 ACCESSORIZE
Lastly, and quite possibly the most important, are accessories. If you feel like you are in a rut, try mixing it up and
adding vintage items with your new ones. I love wearing things that have been passed down in the family, whether
it is a cute clutch, piece of jewelry or a hat. I always wear my mom’s Charleston rice bead bracelet. It is somewhat
vintage and a timeless piece, especially where I live. Find something that is your own ‘signature piece’. I also love
my Dolce and Gabbana lime green clutch, I wear it any time I want to add a pop of color. You can have a simple
white tee, those great fitting jeans, and get so many different looks by how you accessorize. Be careful not to overdo
it. A rule of thumb, put on all the accessories you believe work with your outfit, and then take one of them off. For
example, if you have big earrings, don’t wear a chunky necklace (or any necklace at all). It will look too cluttered
and take away from them both.
As Donatella Versace once said “We shouldn’t be copying what we see. We should try to find our own style, to
believe in ourselves.” So put on whatever makes you feel great and go out with confidence. Don’t forget your smile,
is the best accessory of them all!
