Virginia Full Figured Fashion Week (VF3W)
is a week long event that focuses not only
on fashion but the health and empowerment
of full-figured women. We seek to reach this
goal by providing an opportunity for businesses that cater to full-figured women to
showcase their products and services.
Research has shown that in 2001 nearly 40%
of American women were considered “plus
size” or “full-figured” and the trend has risen
steadily over the past ten years. Like all
women, the full-figured community desires
flattering, fashionable clothing that is affordable and easily accessible.
Some events that were planned:
· The Curves & Cocktails launch party
· Poetry Showcase featuring the east coast’s
top poets
· Empowering workshops, seminars and
panel discussions on the fashion industry
· Informational booths providing screenings
and resources on women’s health
care issues
· 2 runway shows featuring ALL full-figured
models showcasing styles by emerging
designers
· The Diva’s Closet shopping fair
