LOOK UP
I
will lift mine eyes to the hills from whence
cometh my help, my help comes from the Lord,
the Lord who made heaven and earth. Here we see
David the psalmist’s prayer and cry of sincerity to
GOD for dependence and total trust in God. He is
declaring that GOD is his source and his help and
he will look to no other. In life we are faced with
many things: distractions, hindrances, circumstances, issues, wounds, scars, failures, etc. These
are all things to cause us to shift our eyes from the
one who knows all and is in control of everything.
It is the desire of satan, our adversary and enemy,
to send everything he can at us to cause us to lose
focus and misplace our sight to look at things that
have no substance, no agreement with our destiny,
and ultimately causes us to doubt and fear that our
reality and what we see will always be what we
receive, but NOT SO!!!!!!
W
e cannot allow what is surrounding us
to become the thing that controls us. We
must shift our attention, our focus and our sight
to JESUS, the one who is without failure and
without error. The enemy knows if he can get us
to look down in disbelief or shame, then we will
miss CHRIST, or if he can get us to look around
to others for confirmation, then we will become
dependent on what others think, see and feel for
our lives when we in fact know what GOD has
already said. This is not where we should look, but
rather we must LOOK UP. Looking up requires the
most effort in movement of the head and causes
one to change their focus from horizontal or average to that which is vertical- GREATER, HIGHER.
IT CALLS FOR GREATER MATURITY, MORE
DISCIPLINE AND A MANDATE FROM HEAVEN THAT TO WHOM MUCH IS GIVEN MUCH
IS REQUIRED.

at that moment your teacher in the classroom of
your mind. What will you lend your focus and your
sight to? Sight is one of the most powerful senses
of the body and is a great contributor to one either
becoming enlightened or remaining stagnant. GOD
gave us sight naturally and spiritually as an object
and tool of awareness, discernment, and wisdom.
We must use it and see further than where we are
but with this in mind we cannot see further until we
look up to JESUS, who is the author and finisher
of our faith. So the next time you are in doubt, fear,
disbelief, or use to relying on others for direction,
shift your focus and look up to the EXALTED
ONE, our Lord and Savior JESUS CHRIST, He
alone knows the beginning from the end.
