“Where the community comes together” is the core principle of what WARR 1520 AM, of Warrenton NC, lives by
daily! The 2014 2nd Annual Radiothon for the Warren County Free Clinic, was a true reflection of their motto and
has made a huge impact on not just the community, but worldwide. WARR have set a standard that is nothing short
of admirable and has raised the bar as community leaders on how to truly take care of the residents that call Warren and Vance County home. Action is the best way to solve a problem, and that is exactly what President and Vice
President of WARR 1520, Rev. Dr. Lilipiana Darensburg and Logan Darensburg did, they took ACTION on behalf
of all the people who reside in the county and utilizes the Warren County Free Clinic.
The Darensburg’s began extensive efforts to help the free clinic last year 2013 with the introduction of the 1st Annual Radiothon which was very successful. With the help of all the people who participated, donated and pledged,
the 2013 Radiothon raised over an impressive $50,000. WARR understands that having a resource like the Warren
County Free Clinic is vital to the community and priceless to the residents who have no other place to get the professional help they need without medical insurance. WARR 1520 has been known as place that is always ready to
help make a difference in the lives of the many communities that it services. They have a strong desire to make sure
that its valuable resource is utilized in a way that gives back to the community and its loyal listeners. WARR is the
only radio station in Warrenton, NC and takes its presence and responsibilities very seriously. Thats why when they
found out the state of urgency that the Warren County Free Clinic was in, they went over and above the call of duty
by allowing the Clinic to use the station and its employees at no charge in an effort to raise the well needed money
to help keep the doors of the free clinic open.
The Warren County Free Clinic is located in Warrenton, NC, and their mission is to provide free primary health care
and health access services to the uninsured residents of Warren and Vance Counties. The Warren County Free Clinic
currently services over 5000 uninsured residents and does not exclude nor deny ser
