Concert Review:
Evin Gibson
Flying high
Story by: Kae Wyld
Local R&B sensation, Evin Gibson jump started his much anticipated, “Aviation Tour,” May 1st at Boston’s House
of Jazz in Greensboro, NC. The singer’s performance was preceded by opening acts, Chantal Sangz and The Ladies of J.A.M.
Chantal Sangz opened the show with a soulful rendition of her original song, “Driving to Drink;” while The Ladies
of J.A.M., serenaded the audience with a montage of old school jams.
After a brief intermission, the singer emerged; accompanied by 3 dancers, backup singers and musicians. Gibson
took to the stage and wowed the packed audience with an electrifying performance. Exceeding his fans expectations, he performed a number of original and cover songs, including; “Flight Intro, “ “Alarm,” “No One Until I’m
Me Again, and ”Sexaphone.” The singer radiated star quality, and connected with the audience with the ease of a
seasoned performer.
