Celebrating Black History Month By Christina Dudley, used with permission Courtesy of Keith Foster “For those of you who have this three day weekend to enjoy, please do not miss the opportunity to appreciate why you have it. Do not turn a blind eye. Do not let hate rule your heart. Do not minimize our country’s history to a speech, a story about a bus and voter rights. It’s impossible to know where you are going if you don’t know where you came from. MLK’s speech didn’t change this country. His actions, his daily life and making his dreams realities are why we have come so far but have a long way to go. Take the extra step and be the change that this world needs.” Christina Dudley “If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.”- Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. K eith Foster is a photographer in the small town of Plattsburg, outside Kansas City, Mo. He has been taking photos for almost 50 years and loves it more every day. Keith has been married to his wife Kimm for 34 years. His talent lies in his ability to capture his subject’s spirit and personality. 8 www.simplyelevate.com Photo by: A.
