Celebrating Black History Month

“For those of you who have this three day weekend to enjoy, please do not miss the opportunity to appreciate why you have it. Do not turn a blind eye. Do not let hate rule your heart. Do not minimize our
country’s history to a speech, a story about a bus and voter rights. It’s impossible to know where you are
going if you don’t know where you came from. MLK’s speech didn’t change this country. His actions, his
daily life and making his dreams realities are why we have come so far but have a long way to go.
Take the extra step and be the change that this world needs.”

“If you can’t fly then run, if you
can’t run then walk, if you can’t
walk then crawl, but whatever you
do you have to keep moving forward.”- Dr. Martin Luther
King, Jr.
