Simperium Issue 4: May 2020 | Page 40

SAINT SIMS Hello ! My name is Armand, I am 19 years old, soon turning 20. I am french, however, I live in London most of the time because I study fashion design there. I am not absolutely sure how long I have been playing the Sims for but I would guess since 2009 which is when I got my first computer. I have been playing the Sims 2, the Sims 3 and now the Sims 4. I think I am still playing the Sims because it’s a very safe space to be creative and have fun without bothering about uni work. I usually play by phases and tend to play a lot for a few weeks or so and then not play for a while. Now that I have an Instagram account to share my creations I would say I have been playing more frequently but less intensely which i really appreciate. The Sims 3 is my personal favorite for 3 reasons. First I don’t remember Sims 2 that well, please forgive me! I do remember the gameplay being great and It was a time I used to play in life mode a lot more than I do now.  I feel like the Sims 3 was a great upgrade on the sims 2 with better graphics without too much left overs in terms of gameplay. Moreover the main reason why I enjoy the Sims 3 so much is the fact that I could play all over town and edit the world, I remember creating entire towns and really making the most of that feature. Being able to place lots anywhere was also amazing! I love to play a good balance between life mode and build mode but I really tend to 40 play construction almost exclusively. Each time I build a lot I tell myself I will make it amazing in order to want to play in it for a while but I tend to build such big houses that I almost never finish them and start new ones while finishing them. If I were ever to quit playing The Sims, I guess it would be because my gameplay is very time consuming because it is very detailed and my bachelor takes a lot of concentration and work so I think I wouldn’t have the time to play the game how I think it deserves to be played! But I hope I will still keep playing for a while even if it means playing less sometimes! The feature I love the most about The Sims 4 is the graphics. By that I mean that I really like the sun shadows inside, it really makes the visuals more realistic and adds dimension to the furniture. SIMPERIUM
