Northern missed the next three games , which included a 42-41 loss at eventual 4A Seymour Regional champ Bloomington South , before returning for the Dragons ’ 68- 59 win at Floyd Central on Feb . 9 . Creek quickly returned to midseason form and rode a seven-game win streak heading into the postseason .
The Dragons clobbered Corydon Central 77-42 in the first round of the Charlestown Sectional to earn a rematch against North Harrison in the semifinals . The Cougars had Creek on the ropes , leading by six with a little more than four minutes to play . The Dragons were down , but not out . They scored the final nine points of the game to pull out a 44-41 win . The next night they dispatched Madison to claim their fourth consecutive sectional title .
A week later , Creek outlasted fourthranked Heritage Hills 52-48 in the Washington Regional semifinals before edging Connersville , despite scoring only one fourth-period point , 31-30 later that night in the regional final .
