Tenderize steak with vinegar and olive oil – still used in
many hotels and restaurants, rather than pounding on it
with a mallet. Simply soak in a glass container in the fridge
for 4 hours.
Next time you change your furnace filter, put a few drops
of lemon or lavender essential oil on it for a wonderful
clean scent.
Cold water to keep lemons fresh – You’ve sliced a lemon?
No need to wrap it in plastic. Simply place in a bowl and
cover with cold water until next use.
Place a few teaspoons of vanilla extract in an oven dish
with a bit of water. Bake at 300° F for a few minutes for a
wonderfully scented home.
Not drinking enough water? Leave a jug of fresh water or
a refillable water bottle in the bathroom. Every time you
go, have a drink!
Smelly car? Simply dilute some essential oils with water in a
small spray bottle and spray by your feet where the heating
vents are. Voila!
To easily remove stuck-on bugs on the car, just wet a dryer
sheet and gently wipe off.
Make an easy cookbook stand by using a skirt hanger.
If you lost a piece of egg shell in your bowl when you cracked
an egg, just wet your fingers with water to pick it up.
To get fabric couches or chairs smelling beautifully without
the chemical sprays, mix 1/2 vodka (buy the cheapest you
can find), 1/2 water, and a few drops of essential oils such
as lemongrass or lavender. Lightly mist on couch and allow
to dry. The alcohol in the vodka will evaporate, taking
odours with it.
