Options galore
If you’re one of many folks who aren’t big on flying, there are
options to travel by bus to New York City, and from there,
hop onboard the Norwegian Gem for a 10-day cruise to visit
the Eastern Caribbean. One such trip will be coming up
November 22nd, so consider coming along! And if cruising
is altogether “not your thing”, consider the option of a day or
weekend trip by coach bus… it’s all about getting out there
and living life to its fullest! •

MAKING FRIENDS: Are you stuck?
SOH-Oakville_LyricCAN_qpAD_AllThis_final.indd 1
May be hard to believe but as time goes by and we grow
more mature, it can sometimes become more difficult to get
out and meet new friends and build relationships. For those
who live alone, sometimes we can get caught up in a bit of a
comfort zone and it’s hard to move out of it.
Just this week I received a phone call from a delightful single
lady living alone in a small apartment in Burlington. She felt
that she needed to get out but was afraid to try something
new. We talked about what it was like traveling with a group.
I explained that often when you get on the coach, you may
be by yourself or perhaps know one other person. At first it
may feel a little uncomfortable, but as the day goes by you
meet others on the bus and by the end of the day you are
planning your next trip together.
Recently we left on a multi-day trip to the US and a senior
gentleman who was traveling alone chose to come along. At
the end of the trip he shared how much he enjoyed his time
away. He had been traveling alone but he said he never felt
alone. At meal time, someone from the group always asked
him to join them. He ate with several different people and
got to know almost everyone on the trip. Approximately one

year ago, two ladies decided to join one of our multi-day trips.
They did not want to pay the single supplement, so they visited
each other and chatted over the phone, and before leaving
decided to share the room. By the time the trip was over
they had become best friends and now they not only travel
together, but often have lunch or just spend a day together.
For many of you this is not a problem – you are a people
person and love planning fun things to do with your friends,
but there are those who live alone and making friends is
difficult. Our motto is “Making new friends… one trip at
a time”. This is our goal, as we want our clients to become
friends and always look forward to traveling together.
Why not take the first step? For example, we have day trips
that include everything from train rides and plays, to festivals
and cruises, and so much more. There are also multi-day
getaways, and international travel that includes places like
Vietnam, Israel, Italy, Australia or you name the destination
and we will make it a sensation! •
