Quality Time – When You Have ‘ No Time ’
Studies have proven that for children , “ quality time ” is more important than “ quantity of time ” together . Don ’ t worry too much how much time you ’ re spending with them if you ’ re busy – instead work in 10-15 minute intervals of time with them . It ’ ll make you both so much happier ! Here are 3 great tips :
A bit at a time – Get them helping with your busy schedule and make it a “ fun challenge ” for them : Get them to find pairs of socks when it ’ s laundry day , bag 6 apples at the supermarket , help tearing up lettuce and putting it in a zippy bag for the week ’ s salads … In time they will become your biggest helpers !
Schedule one-on-one time – If you have more than one child , be sure to schedule some “ special time ” with each one separately . Plan for it ahead of time and get your hubby to help with the other . Try this at least once per month , and work your way up to once per week . You ’ ll both appreciate it and you ’ ll grow closer together ( Plus it ’ s good preparation for those teenage years !).
Love notes – If you ’ ve been too busy and feel guilty about it , write your kids a little love note and put it inside their lunch bag or under their pillow . Don ’ t forget to ask them to reply ( they ’ ll love this form of communication !).•
