Reptiles galore
are coming to town!

Visitors to Royal Botanical Gardens (RBG) this winter
will be able to immerse themselves in the amazing world of
reptiles! Running to April 17th, RBG’s latest indoor exhibit,
Reptile Rendezvous will feature live animal demonstrations
and activities for the whole family!
Reptile Rendezvous features over 40 of the world’s most
recognized reptiles – vipers, cobras, pythons, alligators,
turtles – as well as many species native to Ontario, and
brings visitors face to face with these fascinating animals
while debunking common myths and fostering a basic
understanding of how reptiles fit into the history of life
and the fabric of their native environments.
Reptile Rendezvous
is actually three
experiences rolled
into one: Reptiles:
The Beautiful and the
Deadly, a gathering of
reptiles from around
the world brought by
Peelings Productions
in
Allenwood
Pennsylvania, Reptiles
of Southern Ontario,
featuring species found
at RBG, and a wealth
of family programming
taking place every
day of the week – all
focused on celebrating
the amazing world of
reptiles!
Exhibit highlights include the American Alligator, Gila
Monster, Red Spitting Cobra and Aldabra Tortoise, all
housed in detailed habitats complete with rock ledges, live
plants and waterfalls. Family programming features days
and weekends packed with kids’ events and interactive
presentations. Adding to the excitement is a full line-up
of public programs, school programs, and March Break
activities and camps.
Come and visit RBG and join the Shell-a-bration and
remember… RBG’s World famous Rock Garden re-opens
in May 2016 after a $20 million renovation.•
