Community Based Participatory Research in Palliative Care

The UAB Center for Palliative and Supportive Care held its firstever Community-Based Participatory Research ( CBPR ) Intensive Training from Monday , September 13 through Wednesday , September 15 , 2021 . Community Based Participatory Research is a partnership approach to research that equitably involves community members , organizational representatives , and academic researchers in all aspects of the research process . The two and a half day intensive training was conducted virtually via Zoom . A total of 32 attendees from the United States and Africa participated in the workshop . Many of the attendees are active palliative care physicians and researchers , who had a desire to increase their knowledge of using CBPR to develop culturally concordant healthcare programs .
