Jonathan Paul Wagner : An artist WHO faces his emotions by creatng faces

Jonathan Paul Wagner is an artist in the tri-state area who has been showing his work through solo and group exhibitons for the past 15. He has had the privilege to have had shows with crticially acclaimed artists like Banksy, Gaia, Ellis Galagher, and of course Peter Beard. These poeple however were described by Wagner as, "not my cup of tea, but it (the shows) had to be done to stay in the right circles." Six years ago Wagner had the opportunity to own a gallery in Chelsea, NYC and so got to choose what cups he put his tea in, and more importanlty the brand and flavor of that tea.

Wagner's paintings aim to capture the deeper emotion in a facial expression that people can interact and relate with. Whether human, or animal, we all have shared feelings of anger, sadness, ecstasy, hope, and triumph,. Having done so we all are sharing in the human experience.

Throughout the various shades of expressions is where Jonathan has found his inspiration. Wagner looks for the common strands of emotions that have influenced us all making his work relatable in a myriad of ways.
