THE ENDLESS LINE OF
R.I.P'S
THE HARDCORE SCENE IS
STARTING TO GROW UP.
BY JESSICA-LYN SAUNDERS
It was just last October that straight edge band
Mindset announced that they were closing the book
on their 7 year story. A final album titled Nothing
Less will be released this coming February, 4 years
after Leave No Doubt's release.
The break up is nothing new to Mindset, as lead
singer Ev Wivell said that this is something they've
planned for a long time. Wivell also noted that
there will be a final tour to allow the band to play
some of their favorite venues one last time. "We're
proud of what we've built together and we're
excited to share these last songs and go out on a
high note."
Mindset, Bane, Casey Jones, Bleeding Through these are just a few names of bands from the
hardcore scene that have decided to part ways over
the past couple of years. It's not a shock though, as
touring can not only be hard with age but also drain
you money wise. A good majority of these
musicians have families they miss while touring (or
when not touring, writing and recording new
music). Another problem that many bands both in
and out of the hardscore scene face today is money.
