I'm sure the band has some key's or tricks, to know when the other guy will end his solo, but still I'm impressed by the almost LIQUID way, all of that seems to happen.
The strong performance by BLIND EGO, is even enforced more, by the video wall behind the drummer. With moving images, complementary with the graphycs on their latest album LIQUID, the band strengthens the experience for the fans in DE BOERDERIJ. Or the lack of fans. Because it seems not only to me, progressive rock has the name to be rather unaccessible. The venue is not even filled halfway, and that's a shame. Because this was a night I will remember for a long time. Because of the atmosphere in the music, the passion of the musicians, the refreshing sounds in my ears and much more. Things I can't even really explain to you. I could tell you about songs like NEVER ESCAPE THE STORM, DEATH or A PLACE IN THE SUN. I could tell you about the finesse of the sounds. I could even tell you about the drumsolo with the lighting drumsticks. But nothing would give you the same feeling I had tonight. A feeling of awe, respect and confusion. A feeling that tells me I've seen something special tonight. A feeling that filled me with a warm glow, on a cold wintersnight.

ABSOLVA is one of the big winners at this years TBFM awards. With both CHRIS APPLETON and MARTIN MCNEE receiving awards for respectively best guitarist and best drummer, the NWOBHM band holds two great musicians. CHIRS is LUKE APPLETON's brother, who is recording the basslines for the upcoming ICED EARTH album. For a while now, LUKE is being replaced by fellow bassplayer KARL SCHRAMM. A lot of quality seems to come out of the greater Manchester area these days.
