SHUTTERWALL MAGAZINE COLLECTIONS 1 - DECEMBER 2016 FREE | Página 2

EDITORIAL Over the past weeks and months, I’ve been asked the same question over and over. Why the hell, would I turn a free blog on rock and metal into a payed magazine? Well, the answer is simple: Over the past two years, the blog has been a part of my life. A big part. It’s taken me up to the point where it’s a bigger part of my life then what I do for a living. And it’s cutting into my payed time. On the other side, the blog costs me more and more to maintain, without any financial return. That leaves two options. Leaving things as they are, meaning I can’t expect the blog to grow much anymore, or shaking things up a bit, and start aiming for the next level. A more professional level. I feel that would benefit us both. The magazine, and the readers.
I know there are plenty of magazines out there, both printed and digital. So why would people read ours? Well, we grew from a hobby for some people who are interested in music, to something bigger. We grew out of the local scene, and always had our eyes open for what others didn’t see. And that won’t change a bit. Of course you will read about the big names, we love them just as much as you do. But those big names started out in a garage, a basement or an attic, just like all the other bands, and just like this magazine. We feel connected to all bands, big and small, and we want to tell you about them. Their releases, their tours, their shows at festivals. All the stuff you want to know. We’ll talk with them, and let you know what they have to say. About their work, or about every day stuff. Because besides a music magazine, SHUTTERWALL MAGAZINE tries to be about every-day life as well. We don’t stay inside that small world of rock and roll. We want to open the window to the world. We hope you will read SHUTTERWALL MAGAZINE for many years to come, and we hope you will tell others about us. Find us on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, and tell us about what keeps you awake. Maybe we’ll tell your story soon.
