In the beginning...
I grew up in the small town of Brewer, Maine. My
Mom’s cousin happened to own the local drive-in and my
Mom helped out at the concession stand in the summer.
My Dad would put my brother and me in our pajamas and
take us to the drive-in so we could say “good night” to our
Mom. I right away fell in love with the drive-in and the
idea of seeing movies on a great big screen. That started a
life long passion for movies and the motion picture
business.
Best advice for others in the business...
To make it a lifelong career, you should have a passion
for the industry. It’s a challenging business as theatres
operate 365 days a year. You work nights, weekends and
Holidays when everyone else is
enjoying leisure time. BUT, it’s
a business that gets in your blood
and when it does, it doesn’t feel
like work. Besides when people
hear that you work at a movie
theater,
EVERYONE wants to talk about
movies. What could be more fun
than hearing people get so excited
about your business? That doesn’t
happen in most industries.
Person who influenced me the
most in this industry...
Throughout my career, I’ve
been
fortunate to have a lot of support
from many of my colleagues.
However, I would have to say that
Mary Ann Anderson was the person that influenced me the
