Carl who may be younger than my beard.
Beard age: Nearly 2 years, it’s the
second one I’ve owned.
Beard comb owner? Yeah, but it’s more
like my girlfriend’s hairbrush.
Beard trimmer used: It’s too long to use
a beard trimmer. I use a pair of Sanguine
moustache and beard trimming scissors,
hand crafted from the finest Japanese steel.
Apparently that’s good, like their swords.
Essential piece of grooming kit:
Beard oil – keeps it slightly more
manageable.
Beard comb owner? Many. I’ve got most
sizes of Kent combs – flick knife combs,
pocket combs, big ass combs. They are
the best brand to invest in, as they are hand
polished so they don’t damage your hairs.
Number one tip for growing a beard:
Ignore the abuse.
Best reaction your beard has received?
“This is Sparta!” – shouted at me during
a Sunderland match.
Essential piece of grooming kit: Beard oil,
without it, it gets pretty dry.

Leave it well alone, don’t trim it until you
reach at least 6 months.
Best reaction your beard has received?
A baby cried just looking at me. Actually
that happens on a regular basis.

Beard age: On 30th October 1987, my life changed forever. George Michael released
his music video for Faith and from that moment on, I knew my destiny lay within his
manicured jawline. I was five years old at the time but I knew it was the beard for me.
Beard trimmer used: Beard trimming is serious business and I hate it when you get split
ends. I personally like to cut each hair with a pair of very small scissors for the shear fun of it.
Beard comb owner? I love my beard comb. I’ve never been able to part with it.

Best reaction your beard has received? I was once leaning against a jukebox and tapping
my foot to a tune when someone actually asked me if I was George Michael.
