So how we stand to the golf ball with our posture will help influence that motion .
If we stand a little too upright or a little too bent forward , again , that ' s going to have an influence on impact , and then we start having to compensate for poor posture . If we can get into a good posture for ourselves and get the right length that suites us , it just means we can produce a nice , consistent motion , with a lot more ease .
So we need to figure out how to get into this posture , don ' t we ? Just stand up wherever you are now and go through this . Get yourself into a normal stance , feet shoulder-width apart standing upright . As we said earlier , what we like to see is more bend forward from the hips about 45 degrees . The eye line is a little more over the target line . And from here now , I ' m just going to get my arms to relax , hang down in front of me , just underneath the shoulders . All I want to do is bring the upper arms close to the chest .
If your current putter is the right length when you grab it from this position , you shouldn ' t have to adjust your bend in your back to address the ball , and your eyes should remain over the ball . If the putter is too short or too long , you feel your eyesight moving all over the place , not suitable for putting . Remember bend form the waist eyes over the ball eyes over the target line . Let the hands and arms hang underneath the shoulders . Upper arms pulled in . And then from here , take hold of the putter . Magic , the perfect setup .
