I want you to hit your wedges athletically like you do shooting free throws or throwing a baseball , focusing on the target , and using your natural intuition instead of getting technical and overthinking things . Here are five common reasons why I think you may be struggling with your short game around the greens

Your setup sucks Whether it ’ s chipping or bunker shots , you want your stance relatively narrow with ball position in the middle to back . Weight is neutral , but you should be very aware of it . The critical thing about your stance and ball position is your understanding of it . Too many amateurs have a wide base , open stance , and weight forward for no reason at all . A solid understanding of the stance and ball position is an important key to hit a simple bump and runs to hitting spinners .
