Laxey Wheel
Liberation Day
The Channel Islands were the only part of the British Isles to be occupied by German forces in WW2. The five year occupation came to an end on 9 May 1945 and Liberation Day is a public holiday still celebrated annually.
Battle of Flowers
Held during mid-August, this carnival is renowned for its colourful floral floats and dancers, which brings a vibrant atmosphere to the streets of Jersey.
Food Fests
Our featured islands are rightly proud of their bounty of local produce, be that from the land or surrounding waters. Guernsey’ s food fetstivals run in April and October with events including monthlong special menus, an adventure beach bbq plus cycling or walking tours with tastings. Jersey also showcases delicious local fayre at a variety of events throughout the year. In September on the Isle of Wight is the Great Wight Bite, while on the Isles of Scilly in the same month, there’ s the Taste of Scilly.
Jersey & Guernsey Air Display
Taking place over a day around mid-September both Jersey and Guernsey treat thousands of spectators to an annual air display. Set against breathtaking island backdrops, these world-class events promise an excellent afternoon of high-flying excitement.
Isle of Man TT & MGP Manx Grand Prix
Thousands annually flock to the Isle of Man for its TT Races, which happen at the end of May, as well as the Festival of Motorcycling which includes the MGP Manx Grand Prix from late August-early September. Prices and offers within this brochure are not valid during both these events.
Royal Manx Agricultural Show
This annual event in the Isle of Man takes place over a weekend in August and celebrates the very best of Manx tradition, community and countryside. Enjoy a wide selection of food and drink providers, along with numerous craft exhibitors.
Heritage Open Days
The Isle of Man’ s biggest heritage festival is held every October and brings together museums, societies, individuals and historic properties islandwide to offer six days of open doors, tours, guided walks and activities that are free to explore.
Cowes Week
The world’ s oldest and largest annual sailing regatta takes place each August in the Isle of Wight. Boasting a great mix of competitive sailing and great fun there’ s also a fantastic line up of shore-side entertainment. Watch the action from the shore or opt to get out on the water aboard a spectator boat.

World Pilot Gig Championships
Every May, the Isles of Scilly hosts this colourful event where more than 120 crews from across the UK, Europe and beyond compete for the most coveted prize in pilot gig racing.
Orkney Folk Festival
One of Scotland’ s longer-established folk festivals, it takes place in late May and attracts visitors worldwide for a four day weekend ensconced in Orkney’ s rich, vibrant folk scene.
HebCelt Festival
The multi-award winning Hebridean Celtic Festival( HebCelt) has been a key feature in the cultural landscape of the Outer Hebrides since 1996 and takes place mid July on the Isle of Lewis. The festival mixes the best local talent with leading Scottish, UK and worldwide artists bringing together household names and emerging talent to provide a feast of music to appeal to all ages.
Lerwick Up Helly Aa
For 24 hours on the last Tuesday of January, Lerwick is the location of Shetland’ s biggest annual fire festival. It’ s a superb spectacle, a celebration of Shetland history and triumphant demonstration of islanders’ skills and spirit.
