Catherine Readding - Artist
Catherine Readding was born in Greenock, Scotland immigrating to the United States in 1957. She's a graduate of Stockton college with a degree in psychology and she also has a degree from Rowan University in elementary education.
Catherine has been studying art and painting for 15 years. She began by teaching herself to draw and paint, first in watercolor and then in oils. She was inspired by the impressionists because of their fascination with the effect of light on color, capturing the feeling of drama in the subject. She studied the science air painting with Charles Gruppe in France, Italy, and Spain. At the present time she is in her fifth year studying with Phillip J Caroll at the Perkins Center for the Arts. Her paintings are in private collections including Cooper Hospital. She has also served as a board member for the Vineland Art alliance.
