Sunshine Foundation has been rated a top charity by CharityWatch and they are proud to say that 83% of all funding goes directly to serve special children.

Sunshine Foundation celebrated their 40th Anniversary in November of making dreams come true for deserving children.

Sunshine Foundation receives a wide variety of dream requests that are unique as is each child. The most popular being a Dream Come True trip to the Central Florida theme parks. When families are given a trip to the Orlando attractions, they stay at Sunshine Foundation’s Dream Village. The Dream Village boasts nine fairytale themed cottages, a handicap accessible playground, wheelchair compatible swimming pool, a miniature golf course and other great accommodations for the families to enjoy during their stay in Central Florida.

Currently, there are over 400 children nationwide waiting for their dreams to come true with more referrals coming in every day, The Foundation relies on the generosity of donations from individuals and corporations to make these dreams a reality.

According to Kate Sample, The Sunshine Foundation is thrilled for the role it has played in offering insight about HGPS which led to the FDA approval of a farnesyltransferase inhibitor (FTI) aiding the treatment of children with this often devastating disease”. The Foundation was able to offer significant anecdotal information to the Progeria Research Foundation about the children served in years passed allowing approval of the cancer drug Lonafarnib in the treatment of children with HGPS.

Everyone from Wonder Woman and Spider Man to Queen Elsa and Princess Anna came out to the MOMs Club of Bensalem’s Pancake Breakfast for Sunshine Foundation. Thanks to everyone who came out to the breakfast Kiana, 12 years old with sickle cell disease, will receive her Dream Come True Shopping Spree!
