They continue to produce the highest quality fresh packed berries and people often ask for them by name. What most people do not realize is that there are many different varieties of blueberries and each variety has a different taste texture and sugar content. At Mento Farms they grow two varieties, the Duke and the old fashion Bluecrop. It's the big sweet light powder blue berries from their fifty year old bluecrop pastures.

When it comes to the day to day operations, Sam handles all the fieldwork, cultivation, irrigation, fertilization, planting, and pruning. Kathy manages the packing house and and inspects every pint ensuring that only the best quality leave with the Mento Farms label.

Their children Sarah and Samuel often help on

See you there! "And remember...there's nothing quite like a sweet blueberry from Hammonton!"

Mento Farms is a family owned and operated independent label Blueberry Farm that was established in 2008. In late 2007, Kathy and Sam Mento had heard about a turn-key farm operation that was for sale in Hammonton . At the time the family’s third generation floor covering business was just starting to feel the effects of the housing bubble, so they decided to take a chance and at the same time realize a lifelong dream of becoming farmers and earning a living off the land. Like they say on ESPN, they cashed in all their assets and went “all in” and bought the farm. This year will be their 10th season and since 2008 they have grown their farm by more than 50%, increasing the size to nearly 80 acres.
