This goes to prove my point , when it comes to being a leader , don ’ t do it to be accepted by everyone ! Kaepernick utilized all of these core values to simply and passively resist political oppression of marginalized groups and yet he was met with rejection and ridicule . People will love , adore and worship you when you are following their agenda , no matter how corrupt or biased it is . When you step out of a line of followers and decide to take a stand , people will despise and attack you . Now according to his stances and even the socks he wears , tensions have risen and according to CBS Sports , he will no longer be returning to San Francisco ’ s team do to a lack of trust between the player and the team among other things . GO FIGURE !!!!! How many times have we seen people lose their platforms , riches and other assets because they did not meet expectations of people in charge of their resources ?
Fact check : True leadership is not always popular , it is not always met with approval and a warm embrace , no matter where or who you are ! As a matter of fact , many times leadership is met with resistance and criticism and rebuke . Think of internationally revered leaders , most of them angered and offended many in the process of provoking change . True leaders are often attacked but without them , how do we advance ? How do we overcome harsh realities and social injustices ? My challenge extends to anyone who may come across the opportunity to stand up for a cause through leadership . When it comes to being a leader , DON ’ T DO IT FOR THE FAME !!!!!!!
