app? Did you do it all on your own or did you have a team.
CD: I went to Startup Weekend Detroit Social Impact. We all pitched
an idea for a start-up company. We had a voting process and Brian and
Darren approached me and said they were interested in working with
me. This is a big issue that we felt should be solved, so we worked that
Friday through Sunday on the app.
We just happen to be in the same place at the same time. I believe
there's always a reason for things. God put people in places for certain
things and to meet certain people. We're going to continue with this
app. It is great because it gives us a sense of solving a real problem
that's out there not only in colleges and universities but in the world. It
gives me as a survivor a way to say, “I can give back on something that
may not be happy to me and at times horrible, but I can change it into
something good.”
SHM: Startup Weekend Social Impact was sponsored by organizations
dedicated to entrepreneurship based in Detroit, MI such as Tech Town,
Cleary University and the Detroit Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma
