President’s Message
W
elcome to the Chamber Connection, your
convenient desktop reference for goods and
services available right here in Sherwood Park and
Strathcona County. At the back of this publication,
there is a 2018 cal endar to help you start planning
for next year’s events.
The Sherwood Park & District Chamber of Commerce
is where local businesses Meet, Learn, Speak and help
each other’s businesses to grow through networking
opportunities, member benefits, participating in
events, and advocacy to all levels of government.
The Chamber’s many activities include:
 Facilitating networking Events which build relationships among
Chamber members that lead to new business opportunities and
increased sales.
 Learning opportunities regarding topics that are timely and
relevant to business owners and key staff. These opportunities
can be in the form of workshops or presentations at events.
 Speaking as a strong voice on business issues to advocate for
change in a positive but forthright manner at the local, regional,
provincial and federal levels in concert with the Alberta Chambers
of Commerce and the Canadian Chamber of Commerce.
 Affordable programs for Chamber members such as health care
benefits, merchant services programs and commercial/home/
auto insurance.
Businesses and industry create wealth and jobs in our community and provide
65% of the municipal tax revenue which helps pay for services such as police
and fire protection, parks and recreation, road repairs and snow removal.
It is the investment of our membership by way of annual member dues, and
community events that allows the Chamber to continue to strengthen both in
numbers and in influence. The Chamber membership provides a tremendous
number of volunteer hours throughout the year; dedicating both time and
sponsorship to our numerous events. I thank each and every one of you for
your continued support.
On behalf of the 1100+ businesses who belong to the Sherwood Park & District
Chamber of Commerce, I invite you to visit and shop at the businesses listed

goods are unsurpassed and, with your support, we will continue to grow and
strengthen this progressive community.
