Composting at Falk takes place with the support of our Cafe, Food Committee, and Univeristy facilities. Under the direction of Ms. Niki Gorecka and with help of middle school students, the program began with the lunchtime composting of fruits and vegetable scraps only. This past year, 8th grade SHERP students worked to increase lunchtime composting by asking the community to add compostable paper products and additional food items to the compost bins. Composting brings sustainability, civic engagement, and global stewardship to our school community. With future 8th grade students, we expect this program to continue to grow and strengthen each year.
