Falk's 2015 Carolina Wren Hatchlings

Nature brought the classroom to our students when a Carolina Wren built her nest within a stack of pots on a shelving unit along a well-traveled sidewalk. Once it was disovered that mama wren was roosting several eggs, students mindfully traveled by the area more quietly, with many stopping to look and listen carefully for signs of the hatchlings. Hearts melted at the sight of at least 4 tiny mouths opened wide. Joy and wonder filled our bodies and minds when we witnessed how these young wrens fledged in just 14 days!
