Circle of Success How do you encourage students to realize that their potential is far greater than they have ever imagined? How do you equip educators to stretch the boundaries of the classroom and inspire future generations of leaders and doers, movers and shakers? These were the questions asked by the founding members of the Sherman Education Foundation. Sometimes the questions are complicated and the answers are simple. You give. You give of your resources; you give of your time; and, you encourage others to do the same. From there to here, and here to there, Sherman ISD educators have given, inspired, equipped, and cared. For 17 years, educators have proven to students that this community supports them. For 17 years educators have been telling students, “Not only can you climb mountains, you will move mountains.” At its 17th annual Circle of Success event, the Sherman Education Foundation honored seven distinguished students that demonstrate the character, leadership, and service reflective of the steadfast ideals of the Sherman Education STUDENT EDUCATOR 14 Kevin Escobar Patricia Hoops, Sherman HS Matthias Ruffins Peggy Savage, Sherman HS Veronica Sosa Patricia Hoops, Sherman HS Gracie Taylor Symantha Murray, Sherman HS Hayden Tiner Anthony Hartman, Sherman HS Kaylee Walker Cyndi Petray, Neblett ES Dalton Wieck Douglas Holtzclaw, Piner MS Foundation. These students exemplify what can be achieved with gritty determination, an assiduous work ethic, a kind heart, and a humble soul. Alongside those students, the Foundation also honored student-selected educators who have made a difference. These educators have devoted their lives to making a difference in others. They have lovingly challenged, vivaciously taught, and whimsically encouraged; they care an awful lot. The Circle of Success event recognizes excellence in education in our great Sherman Independent School District. Circle of Success celebrates the interminable quest to be the best…the best students, the best educators, the best parents, the best supporters and mentors, the best district. These aspirations are themselves a feat, and that is a story that no one can beat! For more information on Circle of Success or the Sherman Education Foundation, visit www.shermanisd.net/sef.
