These are just a few of the words used to drive the design of the new Sherman High School , which voters approved in November as part of the $ 176 million bond package .
Since then , I ’ ve had the opportunity to meet with community members , students , teachers , and parents , to discuss the vision and hopes we have for our students and our schools , and plan and design the future of Sherman schools . These words and more have come up repeatedly .
The design committee -- more than 50 parents , students , teachers , and community members -- spent two days meeting to design what is to be the nearly 500,000 square foot building , and I ’ m excited to share that the new Sherman High School will not only embody these words , but also so many more .
New . Tradition . Space . Pride . All of the things that make up who we are as Bearcats .
The design committee meetings have inspired me to dream big and expect only the best in the design and construction of our new Sherman High School and the opportunities it will provide for our students and community .
In this edition of the Building Bearcats School and Family magazine , we highlight just a few areas that will be positively impacted by the construction of a new Sherman High School : Career and Technical Education , advanced academics , students , staff , and more .
