the case with Sherman HS senior,
Avery Kahl.
Kahl is one of the school’s top
students. He is a National Merit
Commended Scholar, the only
current Sherman High School
student to be named as an an
Advanced Placement Scholar with
Distinction, and is in the top three
percent of high school students in
the nation with his SAT and ACT
scores.
The day described above, is his.
He’s taken nine AP classes since
his sophomore year: World History,
Psychology, U.S. History, Physics,
English, Government, Socio Economics, Calculus, and
English Literature. He passed all nine, and received
the top score on seven.

tennis, enjoys playing video games
during his down time, and takes
part in and supports the clubs and
organizations at his school.
“Being at the academic level I
am takes a lot of dedication, but
I find other stuff to use as stress
relievers and most of that can
be found right at Sherman High
School,” Kahl said “It’s important to
be involved with your school - the
people, the clubs, the programs.
We have a talent show. I don’t
perform but I go to watch other
people do what they love. I go to show support, and I
think that’s really important during anyone’s four years
of high school.”
