7 TH AND 10 TH GRADERS HONORED FOR
ACADEMIC ACCOMPLISHMENTS
By: Kendra Rainey
Along with #BuildingBearcats, academic excellence is
prominent at Sherman ISD. The district aims to build
kids into academically advanced students starting
from the time they start elementary school, until the
time they leave high school.
Thirty-nine students were honored at the reception
which recognizes seventh graders who have
taken the SAT or ACT as part of the Duke Talent
Identification Program - a program that identifies early
on which students will qualify and potentially earn a
national merit standing at the high school level - and
10th graders who scored highest on the PSAT.
