words from the president
Fall is such a marvelous and magical time of year. Our seasons shift as
temperatures change and spectacular autumn colors surround us. Here in our
beautiful Shenandoah Valley, seasonal hues are exploding into red and gold.
Fall can also be at time of beginnings and renewals as we plan ahead for new seasons. At Shenandoah, we
are experiencing both.
On main campus, we opened the doors of the Health & Life Sciences Building as classes started on
August 25. Barely one year after construction started, our newest academic environment already
feels like it has been part of the landscape for years. And, at Scholar Plaza, in Northern Virginia, the
first classes of our expanded occupational therapy and physical therapy programs are underway. The
programs being taught in both of these locations are perfect examples of how Shenandoah is grounded
in interprofessional education.
I am happy to share these stories – and more – with you in this issue of Shenandoah.
Wherever you find yourself this fall, I hope all the jack-o-lanterns on your doorsteps bring a smile to your face.
