Farmers’ Market S ummer is rolling in and that means birds are chirping, flowers are in full bloom, and your local farmers’ markets are open for business! Having a farmers’ market in every community is not only important but a lot of fun. It gives citizens the chance to buy fresh, delicious produce at low prices. It allows local growers and farmers to get their names out into the public, and earn some extra money from their great produce. Participants can find lots of different vegetables including tomatoes, green beans, carrots, bell peppers, squash, lettuce, kale, broccoli, zucchini, cucumbers, and so much more. Visitors can also find a wide array of fruits such as apples, oranges, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, peaches. Vendors will also be selling specialty items such as fresh flowers, eggs, and homemade breads. For the more craft-oriented visitors, farmers markets offer homemade soaps and candles, along with other crafts made by individuals around the area.
