Top Ten List for missing a practice here and there. I now celebrate my imperfections and appreciate my good qualities. This makes me feel good and restores my energy and positive outlook on life. I look for the good in myself and others and overlook the negatives. I try to choose my battles wisely and discard the small inconveniences. Arguments consume precious time from my day, and I will never recapture those wasted moments. If my first grader wants to eat a Pop Tart for breakfast every morning, I refuse to beat myself up about it. I no longer have to compete with those imaginary Super-Women and do it all. This is a myth; no one can do it all. My family appreciates my efforts, and this gives me the love, support, and encouragement that I need to remain balanced and happy. I give more chores to my family to do around the house. Delegating can be tough, but if you simply try it, you will never abandon this idea. Remember that you can assign duties, chores and household tasks to other family members. It is good for everyone to contribute to the welfare of the home. I enjoy the lived-in look of my home. The trash gets carted outside; the dishes get done; food is on the table, and our family now gets along much better when I am not so worried about every single speck of dirt and dust that sneaks in through the front door. The house does not have to be cleaned each and every day. Your children's fingerprints, dirty laundry and scattered toys will one day only be fond memories for you to cherish.
