Top Ten List
for missing a practice here and there. I now celebrate my imperfections and appreciate my good qualities. This makes me feel
good and restores my energy and positive outlook on life. I look
for the good in myself and others and overlook the negatives.
I try to choose my battles wisely and discard the small
inconveniences. Arguments consume precious time from my
day, and I will never recapture those wasted moments. If my
first grader wants to eat a Pop Tart for breakfast every morning,
I refuse to beat myself up about it. I no longer have to compete with those imaginary Super-Women and do it all. This is
a myth; no one can do it all. My family appreciates my efforts,
and this gives me the love, support, and encouragement that I
need to remain balanced and happy. I give more chores to my
family to do around the house. Delegating can be tough, but if
you simply try it, you will never abandon this idea. Remember
that you can assign duties, chores and household tasks to other
family members. It is good for everyone to contribute to the
welfare of the home.
I enjoy the lived-in look of my home. The trash gets carted
outside; the dishes get done; food is on the table, and our family
now gets along much better when I am not so worried about
every single speck of dirt and dust that sneaks in through the
front door. The house does not have to be cleaned each and
every day. Your children's fingerprints, dirty laundry and scattered toys will one day only be fond memories
for you to cherish.
