SMCAA SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM SET TO REWARD 10 DESERVING STUDENTS

Four deserving students were awarded SMCAA scholarships of $ 500 each beginning in 2014 and the program has only grown from there. In 2015, double that number of students received scholarships of $ 500 each and last year the number had grown to 10. The program continues, with another 10 scholarships of $ 500 to be awarded in 2017, providing assistance for the kind of out-of-pocket expenses these apprentices face as they work towards entering the sheet metal trade.
Since 2014, through generous donations and fundraising, the SMCAA has raised over $ 22,000 for scholarships. Subsequently, the SMCAA has awarded $ 11,000 in scholarships to deserving apprentices in the sheet metal trade throughout Alberta who are the employees of member companies. In 2016 the SMCAA awarded 10 $ 500 scholarships to the following individuals:
