She-Wolf 1 | Page 8

There’s a certainly a sprinkling of She-Wolves all over the werewolf timeline, but MTV’s Teen Wolf certainly takes the spotlight! Warning! This Article contains spoilers!

First up, Laura Hale. Sadly, Laura was dead only hours before the opening of the first episode, but her Alpha status and the importance of her death (after all, if she hadn’t died, then Scott McCall, main character, would never have been bitten!) makes her worthy of mention. Sadly, little is known about Laura, but we have gleaned what we could. She was a strong Alpha (not strong enough, if she was taken down

by a half-comatose Beta), at least in willpower. She was only an Alpha for approximately six years, inheriting the power from her mother, Talia Hale, before it was stolen from her by her uncle, Peter, Talia’s younger brother. Laura’s death is what set the events of the show in motion, by calling Stiles and Scott out into the woods to search for a dead body on that fateful full moon night.

Next up, Talia Hale. Talia is the well-respected Alpha of the Hale pack, though she died six years before the show’s beginning, in a fire set by Kate Argent. Talia had the rare ability to shift into a full wolf, making her the highest-ranking Alpha on the West Coast. She was described as cool and collected, not even batting an eye when she finds her son, Derek, holding the dead and bloodied body of his girlfriend (pretty sure my mother would lose her cool, just a little bit, I think).
