Okay, so she's not actually a wolf. Malia Tate (Actually Hale, but shhhh. Don't tell) is in fact a were-coyote. Close enough right? She's also the wildest of all the weres we've seen, which is to be expected. This girl spent about eight years living as an actual coyote in the woods after accidently killing her mother and sister. Oops. Still adjusting to human life (And Calculus!), she sometimes says things construed as odd or inhumane, as well as being more than a little ignorant to what humans deem socially acceptable or normal.
Last but not least, there's the mysterious "La Loba". They call her the Desert Wolf, and there's almost nothing known about her. But she's probably Malia's mother, because "desert wolf" is another name for a coyote. So who is this she-wolf? Why are there hunters and assassins out for her head? Why the hell would she have sex with Peter Hale? Will we ever know? Probably, because that's the heavily implied plot of Season 5. Can't wait to see how many more lovely lady wolves we meet!
