A native of Olanta, SC is a graduate of Winthrop University with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Dance Performance
and English Writing. She is currently attending Queens
University to obtain her Master of Fine Arts in Creative
Nonfiction Writing. When she isn’t dreaming about a
plantation home in the Carolina countryside, she can
be found writing Southern regionalist fiction.
Recipient of the Excellence in Teaching Award, is a business professor at Francis Marion University. She consults
for businesses in the areas of marketing, sales and business strategy, and is active in the Florence community.

Married at 19, she moved to Rhode Island where she
