women all over the
world. African Amer-
ican women are at a
high risk for an HIV/
AIDS diagnoses due
to not properly pro-
tecting
themselves
and skipping regular
checkups. According
to the CDC, the rate
for African American
women has decreased by 20% but is still very high.
4,560 African American women received an HIV
diagnosis, compared with 1,450 white women and
1,168 Hispanic/Latina women in the past 2 years.
