2. What better time to be an immigration attorney! Why did you pick immigration

as your practice?

I am a child of immigrants. Both of my parents were born on the

Caribbean island, Jamaica, as were my grandparents and great-grandparents. My

parents—along with their parents and siblings—came to America to pursue the

American dream. I admire their ambition and all that they were able to achieve in

the U.S. For me, choosing immigration law is a way of saying thank you and

honoring the sacrifices made by those who came before me. Without my parents

and grandparents’ courageous decision to leave their homeland, I likely would be

a very different person today. I am grateful and in a way indebted to them for

paving the way for me.

3. Any advice for immigrants that are seeking legal help?

Due to the rules of my profession, I cannot give legal advice; I only give

legal advice to my clients But what I will say is considering the political climate we

are presently in, anyone facing an immigration issue or crisis should not handle it

on their own. This is not the time to play lawyer for oneself. Seek the assistance of

a competent immigration attorney, or even a non-profit organization that provides

immigration legal services at low or no cost. I try to work with my clients

concerning fees; my approach is compassionate, and my fees are generally cost effective.

4. Remaining goals for 2017?

My only goal in life is to walk in my purpose . . . to recklessly pursue why

I’m here on this earth, and by God’s grace, fulfill my calling.

There is always someone fighting for a cause. You never who is effected by the laws of the land. #SHEIS
