She Is... February | Page 16

2. Like never before we’ve seen women of color really get into taking care of themselves and especially their skin. As a licensed esthetician, what are some tips you can give the hesitant woman who desires to start catering to not only a set of eyebrows but her skin as a whole?

Keep it simple! Learn your skin type ( oily, dehydrated, sensitive, combo, normal) and use products aimed to treat that skin type. For example, Oily skin should use a gel or foam based cleanser with a small % of salicylic acid. This ingredient helps cut oil and prevents breakouts. Dehydrated and dry skin should STAY away from gel and foam because it further strips the skin of moisture. Sensitive skin is just that so stay away from products with lots of ingredients. Vitamin C cleansers or Stem cell cleansers are good for sensitive skin types. Once you learn your products, keep your routine simple. This will better ensure that you stick to it. Get It?

3. I have to ask because your beauty pops! Can you share some of your beauty secrets?

To be honest, I get a lot of rest ; at least 8 hours a night, most nights. I also exercise regularly, drink plenty of water and I have a healthy diet. I do not eat red meat, pork or chicken. I’m a stickler for anti aging skin care products, moisturizing masks, exfoliation and firming serums. I also dabble a bit with Botox 2 to 3 times a year. A lot of women are unfamiliar with the effects and or what Botox can do for the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and texture of the skin. Its not filler ( lip /cheeks etc.) nothing like that at all. Botox simply calms over excessive movement in the forehead and brow area ( or where ever your doctor recommends for YOUR treatment needs) preventing wrinkles and toning the appearance of your skin.

So...with a combination of rest, water a good skin regimen a healthy diet, good physical health and Botox ...the world is yours. LOL

4. February is the month of love, what is your definition of love?

5. Goals for 2018?

Goals for 2018 and beyond look like this; I want a family with the home, WE share. I want to basically live the life I have always seen for myself. I want my business to be successful. I want the money to make power moves and still give back. I want to be the model for young girls who look like me. When they see Chastity, they Say.. "I want to be her". I want to reap what I've spent most of my adult life ... sowing. This is my year!
