Cues From the Queen
Whose opinion is it?
I believe everyone has a specific idea of themselves and how they want others to see them. Not only physically but how others see them as an individual. Because of this we do anything and everything in our power to solidify that persona whenever we can. Whether it be in our fashion, our language, our actions, our facial expressions, our homes, cars etc…
My question is why? Ask yourself why it is important to you the way others view you as a person. Is it something that you came to on your own for very specific reasons or is it something that has been instilled in you by others?
I’ve been told almost all of my life that I am unapproachable. I look mean, I don’t smile enough, I look mad, I look like I’m ready to fight at all times. What exactly am I supposed to do about the way that others perceive me because contrary to popular belief, I am very approachable. So because people like to make assumptions and jump to conclusions, I’m supposed to change my way of living and walk around with the fake smile plastered across my face all day?
Let me ask you this, how do you feel when someone flashes you the fake smile? Is that really better? But why should it matter if we have no interaction? I can talk to anyone, I try my best to help anyone that I can if it is in my power to do so and if not; I try to point them in the direction of someone who can. The fact of the matter is people see what they want to see. I’ve done it myself in the past. You see someone and try to read their entire personality through an expression on their face at the time. How? How is that really possible when you never know what people are going through or what is going on in someone’s mind at the time.
