The three-part documentary series The Rise and Fall of Victoria ’ s Secret , directed by Matt Tyrnauer , is set to be released on Hulu in 2022 .
According to Hollywood Reporter , the documentary will reveal the inner workings of Victoria ’ s Secret using first-hand accounts and deep investigative research . The docuseries will trace Victoria ’ s Secret ’ s journey , delving into the ups and downs of the company .
After nearly 40 years of achieving explosive success , Victoria ’ s Secret has been embroiled in scandals such as the connection with the convicted sex offender Jeffry Epstein and sexual misconduct allegations , leading to the infamous Victoria ’ s Secret annual fashion show being cancelled in 2019 .

The Chief Marketing Officer Edward Razek implied in a 2018 Vogue interview that neither plussized nor transgender models could sell the Victoria ’ s Secret “ fantasy .” Razek later apologised , stating that the show was open for transgender women .

An investigation by The New York Times also found widespread bullying and harassment of employees and models at the company .
A former Public Relations told the New York Times : “ This abuse was just laughed off and accepted as normal . It was almost like brainwashing . And anyone who tried to do anything about it wasn ’ t just ignored . They were punished .
The # METOO movement , which denounces alleged sexual assaults and harassment suffered by women , was also something that greatly harmed the brand ’ s reputation , since a large part of consumers did not feel identified with the message Victoria ’ s Secret tried to portray .
Victoria ’ s Secret now faces competition from Rihanna ’ s Savage X Fenty line which increasingly emphasized racial , body and gender inclusivity in their messaging . Whereas Victoria ’ s Secret still cling to their ‘ Angels ’, who epitomize the slim , yet busty bombshell look that consumers find unrealistic , unattainable and demeaning .
