The JVW Girls School League was launched in 2012 with the vision to improve, develop and expose women’s football at school level, providing a competitive structure for girls to pursue their dreams in the sport and allow new players to get involved in the game.
2012 Schools league Player of the Year, Nelisiwe Mchunu was scouted from the Schools League to The SA Senior Women’s National Team (Banyana Banyana) and earned her first cap in 2013.
The Schools league runs from April through to October
